NUNZIO PORRO

The goal is his home

When Nunzio steps onto the pitch, it feels like coming home.
He walks toward the goal with quiet confidence, adjusts his gloves, glances at his teammates — and smiles.
As soon as the ball starts to move, his eyes light up: every save, even in training, means something.
He plays the way he lives — with dedication, joy, and heart.

For thirteen years, he has never missed a single training session.
He’s the team’s historic goalkeeper, one of the first faces of Juventus One.
Over time, he has become a symbol — known by everyone simply as the goalkeeper.
And that word, simple as it is, means everything: it means he’s seen for who he is — an athlete.

Nunzio lives in a shared apartment, packs his own bag, never misses a practice, and even joins the team during school visits.
When he talks to students, he speaks about football with genuine happiness, and the children listen — because they can feel that he truly loves what he does.

His dream, since childhood, was to play in a real stadium.
And that dream came true: he defended the goal in Pinerolo Stadium, the same one he used to look at from afar as a kid.
“It was amazing,” he says. “I felt like a real goalkeeper, one of those you see on TV.”

But for Nunzio, joy doesn’t come from trophies or big matches.
It’s in the everyday moments — the sound of his gloves clapping, the weight of a ball safely caught, the cheer of his teammates after a save.
He’s kind, gentle, and loved by everyone — a quiet presence that brings calm and warmth both on and off the field.

When someone asks if he’ll ever stop playing, he smiles:
“It will be hard.”
Because for him, the goal isn’t just a place on the field.
It’s where he belongs.
It’s home.
