A beautiful afternoon on Twitch, with one of the symbols of the history and present of Juventus Women. We're talking about Arianna Caruso, who was a guest on the official Bianconeri channel today.
During a half-hour chat, she answered numerous questions from the chat and also gave an update on this important moment in the Bianconeri's season.
THE CUP
"Playing against Inter was a tough challenge. I hoped we could close it out earlier, but in the end, we were good in extra time. These are always special moments, and whoever comes on has to bring a contribution that is mainly mental since many players are tired. The wind was an important factor. It was very strong, and when it should have been blowing in our favor in the second half, it disappeared. Beerensteyn's goal? She did everything, and I just focused on striking the ball hard so that she could receive it."
LOOKING AT THE POULE
"I've been with Juve for six years, and I can't help but believe in the championship, even though it's currently in Roma's hands. We'll try to get as many points as possible and take stock at the end. They haven't beaten us in the season, and even the Supercoppa was decided on penalties. The new format? I like to play, and the more games there are, the better. This format allows you to raise the level, and this month will be crucial because there will be stronger opponents, with matches of a different level."
THE MOVEMENT IN ITALY
"For us at Juve, only the law has changed with professionalism, as this club has always treated us like pros. Of course, women's football in Italy is growing, as evidenced by the opponents who have improved, so professionalism is a good step. There are still steps to take, but the movement is growing. For example, the Champions League puts you up against teams that have known professionalism for a long time, and you can see that, but the gap is narrowing, and we hope to see an Italian team in the final soon."
WHAT DOES THE ALLIANZ STADIUM MEAN?
"Playing at the Allianz Stadium makes a difference, and it makes you feel small, even though the crowd pushes you: it's always a great emotion for me, like the first time a few years ago with Fiorentina. It was an incredible thing that we carry with us forever. I still remember what I felt while warming up. Maybe back then, we didn't fully realize what had happened, but it's something we still talk about today, after all this time."
And then Arianna talked about many things, not forgetting to send a greeting to Rosucci: "I admire Martina's great spirit, she never gives up: I hug her tight, even though I see her every day." She talked about her move from Rome ("At first, I was scared when I left home, but six years later, I can say that what matters always stays close, even if you live in another city: I'm happy with my choice"), the importance of young players in training ("The young girls who train with us have a lot of quality. I see it every day, and they also help us to do better"), and a special thought: "I thank the fans because they're always there, no matter what the weather is like. I try to be kind and helpful, and I hope it shows. For the rest, we just have to thank them because they're crucial for us."
