The Juventus Women’s First Team began their adventure in the Serie A Women's Cup in the best possible way, beating Parma 2-0 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini with goals from Cristiana Girelli and Barbara Bonansea.

AN EARLY LEAD FOR JUVENTUS

The match began with Girelli having a good chance to open the scoring as she latched onto an Eva Schatzer cross.

In the 28th minute, an error from Pauline Peyraud-Magnin threatened to let Parma take the lead, but the crisis was averted.

Juve continued pushing for the opener, and in the 41st minute, it came. Schatzer put a good free kick into the box, and Girelli met the ball perfectly in the box and headed in the opener.

BONANSEA’S BRILLIANCE

Whilst Juventus had the lead as the second half began, it was clear that Parma still carried a threat.

In the 58th minute, Estela Carbonell had a chance to score, while in the 65th minute Parma’s Nina Kajzba had a good opportunity and came close to equalising.

Juve came close to doubling the lead when a Michela Cambiaghi volley hit the top of the crossbar, but the second goal eventually came in stoppage time. Bonansea superbly worked some space in the box before lobbing the goalkeeper and securing the points.

Juventus start their competitive season in the best way possible.
