Juventus Women moved three points clear on top of the Serie A Femminile table following their 3-1 victory over San Marino Academy. Montalti turned the ball into the back of her own net in the first half, while Hurtig and Girelli added to the tally.

It was a battle of first versus 10th placed side and while the margin in the table may unmatched, the opening half was one which saw very little separate the two teams.

The first occasion of the half came in the sixth minute when Bonansea forced a save from Ciccioli, but seven minutes later, the Bianconere made it 1-0 courtesy of an own goal. Juventus broke away on the right flank, where Lundorf put in a dangerous cross that saw Montalti accidently turn it into the back of her own net.

Chances then followed on either end when Menin fired a dangerous effort that sailed just wide of Bacic’s goal, before then seeing Bonansea nod Hurtig’s cross just over the target. Salvai did the same minutes before the break, as they went into the interval with a narrow lead.

Into the second half and Rita Gaurino’s ladies nearly doubled their lead seconds in when Bonansea’s strike - from Girelli’s cross – was turned around the post on the line by Ciccioli. Hurtig then found herself in a promising position when she skipped past her markers to unleash an effort at goal, but Ciccioli got a touch and it went out at the back post.

Bonansea saw her ferocious effort palmed out of play by Ciccioli. It was from that resulting corner in which Juventus made it 2-0: Cernoia curled in the corner kick into the box and it was Hurtig who rose above everyone to head it into the back of the net.

The hosts were proving relentless in their attempts to fight back, and they cut the deficit in half in the 78th minute through Landa’s snapshot on the edge of the area. An unmarked Staskova turned in Lundorf’s cross just wide of near post, but it would be Girelli who found the third and final goal for Juventus, by nodding home Maria Alves’ cross in the 89th minute.
