Juventus Women go three points clear at the top of Serie A, following a 3-0 win away at Inter, thanks to goals from Cristiana Girelli, Aurora Galli and Sofie Pedersen to make it 11 games played, 11 games won.

After just four minutes the first chance of the game fell to Lina Hurtig, but the Swede could only blast her shot just wide of the target. On 22 minutes, Cristiana Girelli put in a brilliant cross to Barbara Bonansea, but the Juve forward could only head the ball wide at the goal from a great position.

Bonansea was again involved just before half an hour of a play, as the ball fell to the number 11 who instinctively hit it on the volley, striking the stanchion behind the goal with the keeper routed to the spot.

That was to be the best chance of a half of few chances, without either goalkeeper being really, truly tested. Into the second half and Rita Guarino’s girls were awarded a penalty on 53 minutes when Kathellen Sousa upended the lively Bonansea in the box. Girelli stepped up and sent Chiara Marchitelli the wrong way with an ice-cool penalty to give the Bianconere the lead.

Out of nowhere Juve made it two! Aurora Galli unleashed an unstoppable rocket of a shot from Hurtig’s layoff that gave the Inter keeper no chance as the Bianconere doubled their lead on 68 minutes. Just a minute later and Hurtig herself almost made it three, the Swede went on a great run through and only the legs of Marchitelli denied her.

Laura Giuliani was called into making her first real save of the game on 72 minutes, as Inter forward, Stefania Tarenzi took a swing at goal, but Juve’s number 1 saved well. Once more Giuliani was alert five minutes from time, again denying Tarenzi as the ball reached in the Inter forward from a corner but Giuliani blocked at the near post.

The Bianconere then went straight up the other end to score a third. The ball came into the box and substitute, Andrea Staskova played the ball to Sofie Pederesen, who shifted the ball well and her effort took a deflection off of a sliding Inter defender to loop into the back of the net and make it three and seal the Derby d'Italia!
