The Juventus Men’s First Team settled for a point away against Fiorentina on Serie A Matchday 12, drawing 1-1.
Filip Kostic’s excellent strike just before half-time gave the Bianconeri the lead, but a long-range strike from Rolando Mandragora levelled the scores early in the second half.
Juventus were initially dictating the pace of the game, but both teams were clearly willing to attack. It seemed the Bianconeri would get their reward for the pressure when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Dusan Vlahovic.
Then, the VAR review made the referee alter his on-field decision, meaning Juve were back to square one.
That was soon followed by an excellent chance for Moise Kean, and his powerful shot hit the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Vlahovic was again in the thick of the action. The number nine won a physical duel with Pablo Mari and raced towards the opposition goal, but failed to find the target with his left-footed shot.
Just when it looked like the half would end in a draw, Kostic broke the deadlock with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the box that surprised David de Gea and put the Bianconeri ahead in the sixth and final minute of stoppage time in the first half.
The second half began with a shock as Fiorentina equalised early on with a long-range shot from Mandragora that Michele Di Gregorio was unable to reach. The Bianconeri goalkeeper then made a superb save, stretching to his right and tipping Kean's shot onto the post with his fingertips. In the 57th minute, Kenan Yildiz had a chance to make it 2-1 when he broke away on the counterattack, but his weak shot was saved by De Gea.
Luciano Spalletti made a substitution, and it was the newly entered Fabio Miretti who came close to giving Juventus the lead with an excellent move, set up with precision by Teun Koopmeiners, but his shot ended up in the side netting. With ten minutes to go, De Gea denied Weston McKennie's dangerous header, which was heading for the top corner. However, the final push led by the fresh legs of Francisco Conceicao did not produce a winning goal, and the match in Florence ended 1-1.
