The Juventus Men’s First Team got back to winning ways on Wednesday night, beating Udinese 3-1 at the Allianz Stadium on Serie A Matchday 9.

THE MATCH

The Bianconeri came out flying from the off, led from the front by a determined Dusan Vlahovic. So, it was no surprise that our no.9 got the scoring going. It was Dusan himself who won an early penalty, then stepping up himself to dispatch it for the lead.

Buoyed on by the early opener, Lois Openda went close just a handful of minutes later, but wasn’t able to find the target with his effort.

Vlahovic and Openda continued to drive the team on in search of a second. Dusan came close but headed over the crossbar, and then Openda had a shot saved by Maduka Okoye in the visitors’ goal. Kostic, too, tried his luck but, once again, Okoye was alert to the danger.

On the stroke of half-time, Udinese drew level as Nicolo Zaniolo finished in a crowded box.

The second half followed the same rhythm as most of the first. Weston McKennie wanted to get in on the scoring but was unable, and then Openda was thwarted by a by-now-familiar presence in Okoye. Pierre Kalulu sought a way to beat the Nigerian goalkeeper, only to be met with that same stubbornness.

Federico Gatti did manage to find a second, climbing highest in the box to head home a corner and restore the Bianconeri’s lead.

The scoring didn’t stop there though. The game’s dying moments saw Kenan Yildiz determined to put his name on the scoresheet. Just moments after shooting over, Kenan was brought down in the box for a penalty that he stepped up and converted himself in stoppage time.

And that was where the scoring ended, with three goals being enough to earn three important points for the Bianconeri.
