Roberto Bettega closed his career on 178 goals, in third place in Juve’s all-time scoring charts behind Alessandro Del Piero and Giampiero Boniperti. The goal captured in the photo would have been his 179th, but it did not stand after victory was assigned to Inter due to incidents outside the stadium before kick-off. On the pitch, the two teams played out one of the most spectacular Derby d’Italia’s. Thanks to Bettega’s equaliser the match finished 3-3.
JUAN TO THE DOUBLE
Juan Cuadrado was the brightest star in the most recent Juventus-Inter showdown. The wideman struck twice in Juve’s 3-2 success. Nothing new for the Colombian, who had already decided the Derby d'Italia three years earlier with a thunderbolt from outside the area that Samir Handanovic could only dream about reaching as it flew past him into the Inter net.

When Juventus hosted Inter in 2002-03, one of the biggest winning margins was driven by the power and determination of Pavel Nedved. In a crucial encounter that decided the destination of the scudetto, Juve won 3-0 with Nedved decisive in every key moment. His free kick led to a penalty area mix up for the opening goal. The second he netted himself after a trademark shot on the run from outside the box. Lastly, his cross provided Mauro Camoranesi with the chance to complete the scoring.
