The Men's First Team began their 2026/27 Serie A campaign with a 1-0 win away against Frosinone on Sunday evening.
Gleison Bremer scored the only goal of the game in the first half, with the Bianconeri having many chances to extend their lead at the Stadio Benito Stirpe.
JUVENTUS START STRONGLY
It was an intense first half in Lazio, with the Bianconeri making a strong start to the match, pinning Frosinone back in their own half from the very first whistle. The approach was aggressive and in the 7th minute, Manuel Locatelli won a crucial ball in the opposition’s attacking third and played it to Randal Kolo Muani, whose shot down the middle was saved by Lorenzo Palmisani. Luciano Spalletti’s side increased the pressure as the minutes ticked by, exploiting the flanks and their physical strength from set pieces. In the 17th minute, Douglas Luiz delivered a pinpoint cross into the centre of the box for Bremer’s header, which grazed the post with the keeper beaten. Just two minutes later, Kolo Muani found himself with another great chance from a favourable position, but his shot failed to hit the target. The reward for their sustained pressure came in the 22nd minute: Francisco Conceicao produced a delightful cross for Bremer, and he nodded the ball past Palmisani to give the Bianconeri a deserved lead. In the 35th minute, Kenan Yildiz played a precise through ball for Lloyd Kelly, but the defender's left-footed shot sailed high over the crossbar. Towards the end of the half, the Bianconeri came close to doubling their lead: Pierre Kalulu made a perfectly timed run and unleashed a powerful right-footed shot that Palmisani managed to tip onto the post; Yildiz pounced on the loose ball, but the goalkeeper pulled off another superb save to keep it 1-0.
AN IMPORTANT THREE POINTS SECURED
The second half began in much the same vein as the first 45 minutes, with the Bianconeri immediately pushing forward in search of a second goal. In the 52nd minute, Zeki Celik played a perfect through ball to Conceicao, who was making a run into the penalty area. The Portuguese winger struck the ball first-time, but his effort sailed over the crossbar. The pressure didn’t let up and the No.7 remained one of the most dangerous players. In the 66th minute, he produced a splendid solo run, starting on the right, cutting inside and unleashing a powerful left-footed shot from twenty metres that grazed the post. In the closing stages, Spalletti’s side once again came within a whisker of scoring a second goal. Teun Koopmeiners picked out Kolo Muani in the six-yard box, but the Bianconeri striker failed by a matter of centimetres to connect with the ball just a few steps from the goal line. The only real scare of the match came in stoppage time when a header from Gabriele Calvani crashed against the crossbar. Bremer's header proved enough to ensure the Bianconeri begin the new season with three points.
