Ahead of Sunday’s Italian Super Cup final against Roma, coach Joe Montemurro was joined by Arianna Caruso for the pre-match press conference on Saturday evening.

With kick-off set for 15:15 CET on Sunday at the Stadio Giovanni Zini, Montemurro and Caruso addressed the media.

So, here’s what Montemurro and Caruso had to say ahead of the big game…

Arianna Caruso speaks ahead of the Italian Super Cup

“If I am to score my first-ever Super Cup goal, I’ll only be happy about it if it helps us win. On a personal level my goal is to always improve, and I always look to put myself at the disposal of the coach.

“We really want to bring home the title, and the games against Roma remain special for me because I was born there, but I’ve been at Juventus for a very long time now and my only focus is on winning this game.

“We haven’t played for 20 days now and we want to show all the good we’ve done in these few weeks. The games after a break always have everybody wanting to get out on the pitch.

“We have to be attentive to every detail against Roma, and the memory of losing last year’s Super Cup is still strong. It hurts to lose on penalties and we have to be sure that doesn’t happen again.”

“Roma have a lot of quality, and they’re good on the break. We know we have to take a lot of care of the ball because they’ve hurt us when we lost the ball in certain situations before. We won’t deviate much from our style of play, we know what we want to put forward, and that has been the message over the last two weeks.

“I haven’t decided the starting XI yet, and all of the players we have are important. There are some new names in the squad and we’ll have [Asia] Bragonzi with us tomorrow.

“We’re expecting a lot of people in Cremona, and it’ll be a final between two teams who play good football. I think it’s the best possible advertisement for women’s football. Juventus and Roma are both teams of European level.

“Our retreat in Biella was important for teamwork, it was functional, being together made us stronger and it was a great week with the girls and the staff. It’s a normal situations after a week away from the pitch.

“Before I finish I want to say that I know how special this moment is, one year after the passing of Gianluca Vialli. I hope that we can enjoy a big celebration in his memory tomorrow, for everything that he gave to the world of football.”
