“Moise is a legacy of Italian football, a golden boy, who is doing his best and should not appear for what he is not.” Captain Chiellini spoke to Juventus TV after the match against Cagliari.
It is now the day after, but the echo of the "buu" and of the whistles created by a part of the public at Sardegna Arena towards Kean have still not been extinguished: "From the field there isn’t a good account of what happened, but I have reviewed the images and Moise did nothing,” said Chiellini. “After tonight, we must think of him as Zaniolo, Chiesa, Barella... as a positive figure of Italian football, because he deserves it. The only thing he did wrong today was the simulation, that he surely won't repeat, but he's here to learn. He's a very positive figure and he certainly didn't deserve the insults he received.”
Kean deserves great applause, and with him all of Juve for the excellent performance provided in Sardinia: "I’ve played so many games in Cagliari and I find it hard to remember one played with this much surety, despite important absences,” emphasised the captain.
“We have shown once again the quality of the squad and the ability to interpret the game. One of the best qualities of this team, and one of the coach's requests, is to understand when to accelerate and when to slow down. In any case, it is not possible to play 50 matches at a thousand miles per hour. Cagliari has great aerial quality and, today, we were good at forcing them to cross as little as possible thanks to a great display by midfielders and wingers. I said it after the game with Empoli, we were very good at understanding the moment and the importance of these points, because we are not hiding: the eighth consecutive championship is in the ‘loading phase’, concludes Chiellini concludes.
“Right now, the "uploading" is getting closer to completion and these two games could be tricky, because if we lose points we could also lose trust. These will be two very important weeks for us.”
