It was his goal that clinched it at the death but Federico Bernardeschi was keen to deflect the attention from himself and place the emphasis on the collective after Juve battled back to beat Chievo on the opening day. “More than the goal I'm just happy we got the three points!” the forward began after the final whistle. “It wasn't easy playing in the heat today but we gave it our all. We have lots of great players but you don't win games on paper – you have to go out there and win them on the pitch. “We lost our way a little during the game but it's the start of the season and it's hard to go flat out for 90 minutes. We dug in and showed we're a team. “Chievo deserve credit too because they were magnificent today.”
