30 July 2025
Jonathan David has officially been presented as a new Juventus player. Following his recent arrival, the Canadian forward was put through his first media duties in Bianconero on Wednesday, 30 July, at the Allianz Stadium.
Let’s take a look at what he had to say…
FIRST DAYS IN BIANCONERO
“It’s really exciting for me to join a side like Juventus, and these first few weeks have gone really well. Coach [Igor] Tudor’s impact has been positive, we’ve spoken a lot about my position on the pitch and the expectations for the season, and we’ve been working a lot the tactical side of things - as well as the physical - in training recently. We want to have different options and ways of playing. On my position, I’ve played a lot as a central point of reference in attack.”
HIS BEGINNINGS AND MOVE TO FRANCE
“I started playing because my dad played, basically - that’s why I started. But then, year on year, I wanted to become a professional and that was that. I scored consistently in France, but the league in Italy is definitely different to Ligue 1. It’s more tactical here, there’s more attention paid defensively, but my goal is to score a lot here as well.”
WHY THE NO.30?
“I’ll wear the No.30. It’s the date of my dad’s birthday, so it felt like a nice choice for me with an important meaning behind it.”
OBJECTIVES: COLLECTIVE AND PERSONAL
“I’ve come here to help this club to get back to winning, that has to be our ambition and I’l always give my all. I chose to come here because it’s a club with big ambitions and I’m the same. I want to become one of the best forwards in the world, and I believe that I’m in the right place.”
