Matthijs de Ligt, like his Italian counterparts, helped keep his nation’s 100% record in the EURO 2020, after claiming a 3-0 victory over North Macedonia in the final group match.
Netherlands’ third victory meant they topped Group C with maximum points, and they will play their Last 16 fixture on 27 June, with their opponent still to be confirmed.
Also in action last night was Rodrigo Bentancur’s Uruguay. The midfielder was an unused substitute during Uruguay’s 1-1 draw against Chile, as they recorded their first points of the Copa America courtesy of an own goal by Arturo Vidal.
Tomorrow a host of Bianconeri will be in action: Szczesny will take on Kulusevski in Sweden vs Poland, Morata will come up against Slovakia, and Ronaldo will face Rabiot in Portugal versus France.
That’s not all though, Danilo, Alex Sandro and Brazil are set to take on Cuadrado and Colombia in the third Bianconeri derby of the day.
