THE FIRST LEG The opening fixture of the Coppa quarters saw Juventus come out 5-4 winners in the dying moments of the game in what was a dramatic nine-goal thriller. Glionna scored a hat-trick from set-pieces while three of Juve’s goals came from dead ball situations that was started by Cernoia.
GIRELLI VS EMPOLI IN BLACK & WHITE Since wearing the black and white shirt, Cristiana Girelli has scored seven goals against Empoli (including two in last weekend’s league fixture) in all competitions: the Tuscan team is now her favourite victim with Juventus.
THE LAST JUVE-EMPOLI MEETING The last time these two teams met at Vinovo was in the second league match of the season. Also, on this occasion, the Bianconeri ran out winners (4-3) with Bonansea and Girelli both grabbing a brace.
CHASING A SECOND SEMI Should Juventus come out victorious, the Bianconere will secure qualification to the semi-final of the Coppa Italia for the second time in their history, after the 2018/19 campaign that saw them go all the way to the final and win.
COPPA SCORERS Currently, Benedetta Glionna (on loan from Juve to Empoli) is the leading goalscorer in this year’s edition of the tournament with five goals, while Staskova tops the charts for Bianconere with three goals to her name.
