Juventus Women are into the Coppa Italia quarter-finals following their 5-1 afternoon win over Pomigliano. The Bianconere finish top of their group on six points, that also included Pink Bari.

Sabrina Tasselli was forced into making a good save 10 minutes in, after a defensive mix-up led to a chance for the home attack, whilst Maria Alves responded straight after at the other end hitting the crossbar! Tasselli again had to be alert as Tyler Louise Dodds flashed a dangerous cross-cum-shot across goal but the Bianconere keeper was able to deal with it.

25 minutes in and Martina Rosucci stung the palms of Maria Balbi in the Pomigliano goal but the opposing keeper was able to get a firm hand on the number 8’s shot.

The Bianconere finally found the breakthrough on 33 minutes. A short corner was played to Valentina Cernoia and the Juve 7 curled an impressive left-footed strike over Balbi and into the back of the net. Three minutes from time and it was nearly a second, Annahita Zamanian struck a long-ranger that rattled the woodwork.

The second half saw Rita Guarino’s girls double their lead early on through Andrea Straskova. Matilde Lundorf found the Czech forward with a throw-in and Staskova used her physical presence to charge through and finish. On 67 minutes, substitute Dalila Ippolito hit a curling strike from outside the box that flew past Bardi to make it three! It was the Argentine’s first goal in Bianconera having arrived in the summer.

Ippolito was again involved as she set up Maria Alves for Juve’s fourth into the last 10 minutes. There was still time for Pomigliano to grab a consolation and the home side did just that two minutes later when Romina Pinna went through. However, Juve would have the last word and in the 90th minute, Staskova scored her second, nodding home Michela Giordano’s cross to see the Bianconere into the Coppa Italia quarter-finals in style!
