Every victory is different. Each has its own distinctive traits and the paths leading to success always vary. There have been new obstacles and old opponents fighting back fiercer and better equipped than before. Throughout Juventus Women's victories there have been several mainstays and one of these is Rita Guarino, who has sat in the Bianconere dugout from the very start.
Chosen to launch a revolutionary project, through her day-to-day work Guarino has created a squad capable of breaking records and realising their dreams. This year her Juventus side has not dropped a single point whilst embodying her character and desire to win. Hard work and success, two concepts fundamentally intertwined: without the former, the latter cannot exist. Guarino is fully aware of this and together with her backroom staff has passed this on from the very first training session.
This approach to daily life has seen another fairy tale unfold – one which ends with a fourth consecutive league title. Throughout the season we have witnessed the team's strength in key matches, admired their ability to overcome hurdles, absences and unexpected difficulties, and seen comebacks in games that have gone awry. The players are the stars but Guarino is constantly on hand to guide and show them the way.
Another word comes to mind when you think of Guarino: growth. Her own of course, as every match is a lesson, but above all the development of the players she coaches. From summer 2017 to now, every woman that has arrived at Vinovo has improved exponentially in every area, acquiring the mentality that often makes the difference between victory and defeat.
Guarino’s mark is firmly imprinted not only on the Juventus Women project but also on the Bianconere's victories and these four consecutive league titles. She has helped write another #F4BULOUS chapter in our history.
