Juventus Women midfielder Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir was our special guest on Twitch this Friday, as she shared her story, answered questions from fans, and gave some valuable advice to young female footballers looking to follow in her footsteps.

In line with Mother's Day being celebrated during this week, the Icelandic midfielder was able to share her experiences as she balances being a professional footballer and a mother, speaking more in depth about the latest Juventus Creator Lab production, My Greatest Achievement, which tells of her unique and powerful story.

Here's what she had to say to the live audience on our Twitch channel today:

BALANCE

"It’s an amazing role to be a mother and player at the same time, it’s challenging too, but amazing. It takes a lot of planning and structure from my part, which is all new to me, but it’s helped me be a lot more organised. You need to take care of a lot of tasks, and of course with the support of the club who provide me with everything I need and are very understanding, it’s much easier.

SHARING HER STORY

"I know it touched a lot of women, it changed a lot in the game, and I’m touched about how many women texted me and thanked me for sharing my story, so I am really happy I did that.

BEING BIANCONERA

"Juventus is a really good team, which plays in a league that is developing really fast. The humanity in this club really drew me in, especially after talking to Stefano Braghin. The club knew I was joining as a mom, so there would be a lot of organisation needed around me because of my baby, but I have felt supported here right from the start. It’s a highly professional club, which is one of the reasons why I chose Juve. It’s amazing how far they’ve developed, and how much investment there’s been, in just six years since the team was started.

ADVICE

"I think it’s important for young women to be themselves, believe in your abilities and strength as a player and person. There’s no limitations of what you can achieve – women’s football is growing and growing, there’s a lot of opportunities for young girls today, so work hard, believe in your abilities – if you believe in something, you can achieve it, just work hard and never give up."

There was a lot more said on today's livestream - if you missed it, you can still watch the full conversation HERE.
