THE COACH ON HIS DEBUT

Coach Montemurro had already won over hearts and minds during pre-season and the Round 1 mini-tournament that kicked off the UWCL qualifying campaign. On the eve of his Serie A debut, Montemurro's message was clear, "Our playing identity is very important. Frankly, it is fundamental. Obviously it must be tested out in every match, against every team, when we must measure our reaction to the difficulties that will arise game after game."

STORMING START

The game got off to the perfect start. Montemurro's 4-3-3 set-up clicked into gear from kick-off and after just 8 minutes Arianna Caruso's corner was flicked home by Martina Rosucci with a cheeky back-heel.

PRESSURE POINT

The pressure applied by Juve brought a second goal 10 minutes into the second half. Lina Hurtig crossed from the left, a cross that cut out the Pomiglino goalkeeper, leaving Arianna Caruso the simple task of placing the ball into the unguarded net.

DOUBLING UP

Seven minutes from full time, Caruso crowned off an impressive display with her second goal on the night, her first ever league double in black and white stripes. Arianna reacted the quickest to a piledriver from Lisa Boattin that crashed off the crossbar. On the rebound, Arianna pounced to head the ball home. Three goals and three points: the perfect start.
