Juve's 2022 ended with a home draw with Standard Liège in the third and final friendly in December.

The Bianconeri appeared in front of the Allianz Stadium faithful with many starters on the pitch - after all, in less than a week Serie A resumes. Apart from the all-Brazilian backline, Marley Aké also started.

POSITIVE START BY JUVE

Arek Milik immediately warmed up the gloves of the Standard goalkeeper after only two minutes of play. His co-striker Moise Kean also came close early, almost crowning a beautiful team action on the left orchestrated by Fabio Miretti and Filip Kostic. Again Moise on 8' did find the net but the flag was raised for offside.

THE VISITORS MAKE THE BREAKTHROUGH

The Belgians, who on the 23rd played resumed their league action in the Pro League, where they are currently sitting sixth. Their advanced fitness levels came to the fore as the first half progressed. William Balikwisha hit the post with a powerful drive from distance in the 23rd minute. Then the goal, a rather unfortunate own goal by Danilo, who gave the visitors the advantage from a free-kick shortly after half an hour.

BIANCONERI REACTION

Juve's reaction was immediate. Miretti hit the post with a shot from inside the area from a good position. Just before the break, Bremer tried his luck with a long-range effort which Standard goalkeeper tipped over.

NINE CHANGES AT THE BREAK

Not only players on the field change (practically everyone except Miretti and Aké) but also the attitude. Juve started strongly again in a bid to draw level. In the 53rd minute Miretti hit a free kick but failed to find the target. Two minutes later Dussenne upended Mattia Compagnon in the area. Mattia Soulé converted with a quality finish for the equaliser

Juve set about finding the goal to end 2022 in the best possible way, while Standard aimed to bring home a prestigious success, without either side creating any clear scoring chances.

FINAL FORCING

The last minutes of the match saw the Bianconeri upping the pressure and came close to scoring with Gatti's header from a corner kick in the 88th minute. The match ended in a draw and attention from now on turns to the resumption of Serie A, in 2023 in Cremona.
