Juventus Women produced the goods in the second half at Vinovo to complete the job over Chievo in Coppa Italia.

Goals from Barbara Bonansea and penalties from Arianna Caruso and Cristiana Girelli matched the first-leg winning margin as Juve completed a 6-0 aggregate success and booked their place in the semi-finals.

THE MATCH

Barbara Bonansea and Sara Gunnarsdóttir returned to the starting line-up, which also included January arrivals Paulina Nyström and Bénédicte Simon as Joe Montemurro gave his side a new look.

With the advantage of a 3-0 first-leg victory, the Bianconere were content to keep posession and probe their way through a packed midfield.

Replacing the tournament's top scorer coming into the second leg of the quarter-finals, Cristiana Girelli, Nyström bore the weight of the Juve attack on her shoulders. Three times the Swedish striker found herself in a scoring position, but each time she was either denied by the Chievo keeper or failed to hit the target.

Also guilty of being wasteful in front of goal in the opening half was the lively Evelina Duljan. Her first chance, on seven minutes, was well saved by Giorgia Bettineschi in the Chievo goal.

The second opportunity stemmed from a move which the wingback prompted herself. After releasing Arianna Caruso on the run into the area, the Swede scuffed her shot following a precise cutback by the midfielder.

Juve had nothing to show for their superiority, at least not in the first half.

Just over 10 minutes after the restart, the Bianconere made the breakthrough.

Duljan powered down the right. On reaching the byeline she delivered low across the face of goal. Bonansea was lurking at the far post and has the easy task of tapping the ball into the unguarded net.

It was the last involvement from the number 11 as both coaches freshened up their sides.

Momentum remained with Juve, however, and the hosts were offered a glorious opportunity to double their lead. Again Duljan provided the inspiration. This time though her run into the opposition box was brought to an end only after being tripped. Caruso confidently slammed the penalty straight down the middle.

Two-nil up with 25 minutes to play and almost immediately the hosts came close to adding another. Lineth Beerensteyn was offered the opportunity but was thwarted by Bettineschi, who produced an excellent save. The keeper would produce a string of stops, most noticably a double save to deny Girelli.

However, the home striker had the last word as the Bianconere added a third in the third minute of time added on. Again the goal came from the penalty spot after Elisa Pfattner had been brought down inside the area.

A resounding 6-0 aggregate success saw Juve oust the remaining team from Serie B and set up a semi-final with Inter.
