The Men's First Team drew 1-1 with Cagliari on Serie A Matchday 6. Daniel Maldini had given the home side the lead in Sardinia, but Randal Kolo Muani scored a late goal to rescue a point for the Bianconeri.

Despite a flurry of late chances for Luciano Spalletti's side, the game ended in a draw.

THE MATCH REPORT

The Bianconeri got off to a flying start with an early long-range effort from Pape Matar Sarr and a volley from Chico Conceicao in the first ten minutes, both of which flew over the bar. Juve created the first real clear-cut chance of the match in the 14th minute, as Zeki Celik picked out Weston McKennie at the far post with a precise cross. The American’s lay-off found Nico Gonzalez, who had timed his run perfectly. From the middle of the box, he struck the ball on the volley but it grazed the woodwork.

In the 19th minute, Cagliari took the lead through Daniel Maldini’s run into the penalty area. The Bianconeri refused to lie down and immediately began to dominate play once more. The response came mainly through Nico Gonzalez, who unleashed a venomous left-footed shot from 25 metres that grazed the post to the right of Elia Caprile. The half ended with the home side in the lead.

In the second half, Spalletti’s side immediately stepped up the pace in search of an equaliser. It took just two minutes to create the first chance. Douglas Luiz tried to catch the Sardinian defence off guard with a dangerous shot, only to be denied by Caprile’s save at his feet.

The Bianconeri pushed forward even further and pinned Cagliari back in their own half. It was the newly introduced Edon Zhegrova who took centre stage. The Kosovan winger cut inside to create space for a shot from close range and tested the home goalkeeper’s reflexes with a powerful strike.

Shortly afterwards, he tried his luck from distance, only for his effort to be deflected by a defender. Around the hour mark, he attempted a curling shot, forcing Caprile into a superb flying save. In the 81st minute, Juventus drew level with a splendid move. Kerim Alajbegovic delivered a cross that was perfect for Randal Kolo Muani’s run into the box.

The French striker did well to hold off the defenders and score with a precise header. Four minutes later, the French centre-forward had the chance to give Juve the lead, but his touch inside the six-yard box struck the crossbar, and on the rebound, Nick Woltemade lacked the power to head home. The match in Cagliari ended 1–1.
