When Alex put the Rossoneri in front after 18 minutes of Saturday’s clash at the San Siro, Juventus needed to call upon all their resources of resolve and resilience in order to turn the scoreline on its head and come away with a hard-earned three points.
For Claudio Marchisio, this was perhaps the most pleasing aspect of their comeback win, and one which he saw as a sure sign of the ever-growing maturity of all members of the squad, from the experienced heads right down to the rising stars.
“Our solidity, mental strength and self-confidence that this group has acquired over the years played a big part in tonight’s win,” he opened. “It’s clear that the youngsters are improving all the time, just take the example of Daniele Rugani.
“To complete a comeback in tough circumstances such as tonight’s is a very positive sign, especially in terms of our physical condition. We’ve some crucial weeks coming up and so it’s very encouraging that we’re in good nick.”
