Speaking ahead of Juventus Women's upcoming Serie A fixture with Como Women - kick-off is set for Sunday, February 11 at 18:00 in Biella - Bianconere boss Joe Montemurro has been looking ahead to the game, reflecting on the recent Italian Cup win over Sampdoria, and discussing Cristiana Girelli's return to fitness.

Como Women will pose a threat

“Como Women will give their all to try to take home the points and go fifth in the table, so I don’t expect an easy game. We won’t be afforded much space and they’ll look to hit us on the counterattack, but we shouldn’t focus too much on the opponents’ approach. It’s important to think about ourselves in these regular-season games, regardless of who we face.”

Italian Cup semi-finalists

“We’re pleased to have reached the semi-finals of the Italian Cup, and we’re happy to have had the chance to five playing time to a lot of the girls who hadn’t played as much as the others, particularly the younger players who hadn’t debuted before. Of course the first-leg result allowed us to play with peace of mind, and to try out some things we had worked on in training.”

Girelli’s impact

“Cristiana [Girelli] once again showed her worth [against Sampdoria in the Italian Cup], but also off the pitch. It was a choice to slowly reintegrate her into the team as her return from injury wasn’t easy, so we tried to get her back into the team gradually so that she could get back to full strength. I’ve seen good things from her this week, in training as well, which is great news for everybody.”
