Coach Joe Montemurro and captain Sara Gama presented the final of the Women's Italian Cup at the press conference at the "Arechi" stadium in Salerno. Opponents tomorrow, Sunday 4 June 2023, are Roma. Kick-off is at 16:30 CEST.
"We're facing Roma again after playing against them in the league a week ago. This time though it's a final. The team has been training very well in recent weeks, I feel the attitude is right. We are ready. It's a privilege for us to feel this pressure. We always want to give our best so we can come out on top.
"Every final is a match unto itself. In these games, the difference is knowing how to manage the moments of the match. Whoever manages the situations better will have the upper hand."
"It's a final, we're here to give it our best shot. It's a one-off game, different from the league games, so there are the difficulties and opportunities a final produces. It will be a good day of top-level football. We want to do our best to bring home a trophy.
"We have all come down here together for the final, even those like Martina [Rosucci] who are not available. We've been working well over the past few weeks and we've created a tight-knit group.
"My return in the right-back role? This is my position, even if in recent years I have also played as a central defender. It's a lot of fun and I was happy when the coach asked me to play there. It seems I've still got the hang of it.
"Before these games there is not much to say. You have to gather your energy and give everything. Until now we have always lifted at least one trophy each season, so we want to win, but we have to take the field with humility. The weight of history must push us on, not be a burden."
