adidas has organised the first "Move For The Planet Tournament", a football tournament in support of the "Move For The Planet" initiative, the campaign launched by adidas .

Today on the pitch of the "Allianz Stadium" in Turin, three teams faced each other on the field - Juventus Team, Nazionale Creators and Nazionale Gamers - whose performances added up to many minutes worth of donations to the Common Goal project, which has always been committed to educating and engaging communities on sustainability through sport

In fact, every ten minutes of movement from each of the players who took to the field today collected €1 to donate to countries facing the most dramatic effects of climate change, such as Colombia, Greece, Pakistan and South Africa.

Football is just one of the sports involved in the initiative - which also includes running, hiking, basketball, cycling, tennis, padel and many others - but it was the stand-out activicty of the afternoon in Turin.

In addition to the hosts of the Juventus Team - a collective of fans, influencers and personalities from the Bianconeri world - the National Creators team and the National Gamers team also made their debut on the playing field.

In each of the teams, the girls of Balon Mundial, a company of the adidas Football Collective committed to female empowerment and the removal of gender barriers in sport, were also involved.

The “Move For The Planet Tournament” is part of the broader framework of adidas sustainability initiatives, all oriented towards the same mission o make what’s best for the athlete better for the planet, like the commitment to replace virgin polyester with recycled polyester wherever possible by the end of 2024.

In fact, the new Juventus Home 2023/24 kit is made from recycled polyester, which - live on the Twitch channels of Juventus and those of some of the major creators involved - were among the memorable moments of the day, together with the brightly coloured shoes from the Heatspawn collection, always centre stage in the triangular tournament full of goals and surprises.

For adidas and the 60 gamers, fans and creators involved, sport therefore becomes a way to push people to get moving: passion can be transformed into a barrier against indifference and make way for concrete action against the climate crisis.

There is still time to support the project. It is possible to register on the adidas Running app and collect activity minutes until June 12th.
