There is a team in Serie B that is flying high. In fact, flying highest.
That team is Frosinone, top of the table on 51 points on the back of 16 wins and three draws from their 23 games, an impressive run for the team from the Lazio region. What's more, they have scored 36 goals so far, conceded only 13 and have an advantage of 11 points over Genoa in second.
On the left flank, the performances of Gianluca Frabotta have caught the eye. But for those that have followed his career it is no surprise. The Juve Academy graduate also shone in Serie A after arriving at the Bianconeri in 2019. His first moves were with Under 23 before stepping up to the First Team, where he made 16 Serie A appearances plus one each in the Italian Cup and the Champions League.
After a season at Verona, Gianluca switched to Frosinone, where his numbers speak for themselves: so far almost 900 minutes in 16 games in the second division, with three assists to boost his stats.
In particular, in 2023, Gianluca has been a starter in victories over Ternana, Modena and Benevento and also in the most recent success at Como last weekend, while he came on as a sub in the other game that makes up the team's five-match winning streak, against Brescia.
