After being sidelined through injury for almost three months, Marko Pjaca has got his new year up and running with two half-hour-long substitute appearances against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia and Fiorentina in the league.

With some valuable game time under his belt already in 2017, the Croatian wide forward, signed from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer, is keen to keep stepping through the gears as he plots a successful second half of the season both personally and for the club.

Here are his standout quotes from today’s interview with Jtv.

Raring to go again

“I’m feeling in good shape and it’s great to be back among the action. My leg doesn’t hurt anymore and now I have to train hard to be in the best possible condition for matches.”

Aiming to improve

“To hear the compliments that the manager has given me naturally makes me proud and I’m working day in and day out to ensure that I’m at the races for games and play as much as possible.

“The Italian league is tough, especially in terms of finding space to run into on the pitch. Your movement needs to be spot on.”

Looking ahead to Lazio

“It’s very important that we kick on again in the best possible way this weekend. We’re playing in front of our fans who always make for a great atmosphere at the Stadium and help to drive us on.

“We need to concentrate on our main strengths, prepare for the match well and obviously win.

“This season we want to claim the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and go as far as possible in the Champions League.”
