Paul Pogba looked very much at home as he took centre stage at the press conference that signalled the return of the Frenchman in black and white. Speaking in Italian, the Frenchman explained what brought him back to Turin and his goals for the future.

TARGET SETTING

“I don’t know what pressure means. I don’t feel any pressure at all. I have confidence in myself that I can do well here.

“I know that Juve didn’t win last year, but neither did I. So we share the same ambition, to win again.

"We must continue to grow, the first aim this year must be to win back the scudetto. There is talent here, there are excellent young players and I think we can do great things together with the right mentality. We have to be hungrier than the other teams."

A QUESTION OF THE HEART

“I am very happy to be back home -  because that is how I feel here, at home. I am extremely delighted.

“It was always a pleasure to receive messages from Juventus fans when I was in England. My focus was completely on Manchester United, but I missed the fans here. Juve supporters are special, they really get behind the team.

“When I was at Man Utd I kept in touch with Mister Allegri. He was my coach here the first time, and we enjoyed some great moments together. I’ve always had a good relationship with him. He is the right man here and this was the right moment for me to come back.

“My heart chose Juve for me. I felt inside that this was where I wanted to come and that’s when the decision was made.”

SIX YEARS ON

“I can’t wait to get out there and help the team, and do even better than I did in my first spell here.

"I believe in destiny, I am happy with all the choices I have made. Sometimes things don't work out as you would have liked, but I am happy with those years in Manchester. I grew up, I became a man.

“I have more experience, I know my body more. I have learned a lot and I think I can pass this on to the youngsters coming through here.

“I am a father now, so my life has changed since I was first here. I have come back with my family but my objectives remain the same - I want to win.”

PITCH TALK

“I want to get my rhythm back, to play in my position, to play regularly once more. Physically I am in good shape and I can’t wait to get back out onto the pitch.

"As for my role, I know that here we play with a three-man midfield, and I can play both on the right and left in the middle of the park, but more than my position the most important thing is to get out on the pitch and play.

"Di Maria? We know his class, he has experience and has won so much. I have already noticed from the first days that he is a serious professional and has a great desire to win.

“We need to grow to improve in Europe. Next season going far in Europe is a dream to nurture, while the goal is to win the league.

“Juve is still the number one club here in Italy. Other teams have grown, the level has risen, winning the scudetto is never easy, but Juve is Juve, the biggest club in Italy and Juve belong at the top.”
