While there may be a literal question mark shaved into the back of Paul Pogba’s head, for the Frenchman, there should be no doubts over the Bianconeri’s progression this season even in the light of Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat to Sevilla.
Speaking to the media after the game, Pogba began “We came here wanting to win but we lost. The important thing is that we’re still in the competition and now we’ll wait and see who we draw in the last 16.”
Reflecting on the evening’s action, Juve’s number 10 believes that overall the Bianconeri produced a respectable showing at the Estadio Sanchez-Pizjuan, himself included.
“We always play as a team and there’s more to winning and losing than the performances of two players. Alvaro (Morata) and I give our all for the jersey but we accept our results as a group, positive or otherwise.
“I see my performance in the same way as that of the whole side tonight, we didn’t win the game but we didn’t play badly overall. We tried a few different things out on the pitch but of course, we can always improve on what we showed here this evening.”
