Massimiliano Allegri said Juve's failure to maintain their calm and keep playing as a collective was the reason they were unable to get back in the game after Empoli scored what proved to be the only goal at Allianz Stadium.
"We started off well but conceded from our first mistake then stopped playing as a team, handing space and the initiative to Empoli," the coach began.
"We should have played as team, not individually. We needed to fill the box better but we made lots of technical errors because our play became frenetic.
"You have to manage the game and the ball differently and you have to be patient when defending, because if you rush around trying to win back possession you leave gaps for the opposition.
"We have one point from two games and obviously we're not happy because good results help you grow but we'll learn from these two slip-ups.
"We must work on being more compact. We can't always take the lead and when you go behind you need to stay calm and keep things tidy.
"Things are difficult now but we'll improve. After the international break, we'll have a good month with the Champions League and some big matches against direct rivals that we'll need to prepare for properly.
"We have some talented young players but they obviously lack the experience needed to deal with certain moments within games. Today they tried a bit too hard and ended up burning themselves out."
On Cristiano Ronaldo: "He scored lots of goals here but we can't be thinking about him anymore. We have an excellent squad with great technical and personal qualities and they can only get better."
