The Bianconeri racked up a second 2-0 victory on the bounce by beating Genoa to build on the triumph in Salerno in midweek. Goalscorers Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala and coach Max Allegri described the comfortable win at Allianz Stadium on Sunday evening.

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

“We won the game tonight by enjoying ourselves and creating so many chances. We’ll certainly have to improve in terms of how clinical we are in front of goal because so many of our efforts were at [Salvatore] Sirigu and we definitely could’ve scored more goals. That will be a key step forward for us in terms of our development, but the positive to take from tonight is the result and our performance.

“It was important to win tonight and to do so with determination, attacking our opponents from the first minute till the last. At the moment we have to take it game by game and focus on ourselves rather than anyone else. In terms of tonight’s performance, I’m pleased with the team’s movement on the pitch. We were compact between the lines, focused and well organised. As in the game in Salerno, we managed to give [Federico] Bernardeschi, [Paulo] Dybala and [Dejan] Kulusevski the freedom to move around the attacking line just behind [Alvaro] Morata, which is a key aspect.”

JUAN CUADRADO

“I tried to hit the ball hard towards the near post, but fortunately it went even better and the ball went in, so I was thrilled. Whenever I take to the pitch, I try to follow the advice from the boss, opening the game up and trying to find our forwards. I think we produced a good performance tonight. It was important to break the deadlock early on and I’m pleased that I managed to do so. Our attitude on the pitch was important and by playing with conviction, we managed to clinch another key result. We have to keep giving our all game after game.”

PAULO DYBALA

“We dominated the whole game and Cuadrado’s goal certainly allowed us to play more calmly. We could’ve put it to bed earlier, but what matters is that we managed to get three more points. It’s not easy to play every three days. We have to keep it up and take it game by game. I always try to give my all and make myself available to the coach and the whole team.”
