Juve got their European campaign off on the right foot with a convincing win away to Malmo.

Massimiliano Allegri

“The Champions League opener is never straightforward. We were also coming into it after a not-so-easy period. There’s room for improvement in terms of possession, but there were still positives in that area. Tonight three midfielders played who had never previously played together. It takes time for the players to get to know one another better. As for Rabiot, maybe even he doesn’t know how much potential he has. He’s improving and had a good game. Szczesny also did well tonight. He played well and made some saves that were harder than the ones on Saturday. There are simply times when things go wrong. We didn’t concede any goals in the end tonight. Dybala and Morata also played well, but we’re now thinking about Sunday without getting too far ahead of ourselves. Milan are in good form and there’s a feeling of excitement surrounding the club.”

Paulo Dybala

“We headed into tonight’s game after a few results that hadn’t gone our way. We knew what we had to do tonight and we did it, without losing our cool. That’s the way forward.”

Alvaro Morata

“Winning helps you win more. There are many positives to take home tonight. We also took the game seriously in Naples, but it was key to kick off with the three points tonight. We have to be strong as a team, change the dynamics and show other sides that it’s difficult to pick up points against Juve. We’re working hard and we want success. We’ll keep going and listening to the boss and more experienced players. As for Milan, they’re a top side. We’ll have to head into it knowing that it’ll be a tough but fantastic match.”

Manuel Locatelli

“It was essential to win to make a good start to the group, having not started well in the league. This result gives us confidence, as does the fact that we kept a clean sheet, which is key. It’s a crucial win. It was a wonderful feeling to hear the Champions League anthem out on the pitch. As for the criticism, that’s to be expected. We’re Juve and we know what we have to do to improve.”

Alex Sandro

“I’m thrilled to have scored my first Champions League goal. It’s something that I was targeting for a long time and it was also a very important one. It got us on track at a different ground to come to. We’d prepared well for the game and we did what we wanted. The win is a boost for our morale. We’re a strong group that is on the up.”
