Massimiliano Allegri, Leonardo Bonucci, Juan Cuadrado and Wojciech Szczesny shared their post-match views in London after Juventus' defeat against Chelsea, their first in this season’s edition of the Champions League, on the penultimate day of the Group Stage.

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

“We played well in the first half, while in the second we suffered the pressure of Chelsea who are a team in good form, and are very strong technically. We are sorry to have conceded four goals, but we must not forget that we have reached our first goal of the season, namely the passage to the Round of 16, with two matches to spare. An evening like this must serve as a lesson because we can also learn something from defeats. Now we will have to put this result behind us and focus on the next match against Atalanta, which will be very important for us."

LEONARDO BONUCCI

“It's a heavy defeat, but now we have to look forward. When you face these teams, you have to always push on the accelerator because as soon as the pace is lowered and you start giving space, these teams are good at creating the ideal situations to go towards goal. We faced a great Chelsea side, and from this defeat we must learn the right lessons for the rest of the season. Now our focus will have to return to the championship because a very important match against Atalanta awaits us on Saturday."

JUAN CUADRADO

“The Champions League is a very complicated competition, we know that, and this evening we once again saw a concrete demonstration of it. We may have lost, but we are a great team and we will react. Chelsea played a much better game than in the first leg, with greater intensity in all areas of the pitch. We, for our part, could certainly have done more. We have to learn from the mistakes we made this evening and think about redeeming ourselves, already starting from the next match in the league which will be fundamental for us. We will see a Juve with a great desire to redeem today's performance and result.”

WOJCIECH SZCZESNY

“Tonight we saw the difference between the two teams. Chelsea, in addition to being reigning Champions League champions, are still the best team in Europe right now. Losing like this leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but the word to focus on now must be ‘restart’. On Saturday we will have the opportunity to redeem ourselves immediately by facing Atalanta in the league in another match with a very high difficulty coefficient."
