Juventus.com conduct an e-interview with Official Fan Club Westchester from Westchester County, New York, USA in our new series of web Q&A's with Juventus Official Fan Clubs. Timothy Mcdermott, President of JOFC Westchester answers all the need to know questions on the American Bianconeri fan club.
1. How is your Official Fan Club managing to keep Juventus fans both together and involved during these current times?
We are making sure to keep our group chat alive and active, as well as constantly checking in on each other. We also have socially distanced coffee meet-ups and very small group-distanced viewing parties.
2. Are there many Juventus fans in Westchester county?
When first starting out, I only knew of a solid 7-10 true fans. However, word spreads fast in Westchester and I can’t even believe how many Juventus fans we now have all around Westchester.
3. When was the Official Fan Club Westchester founded?
During the 2019/2020 Season.
4. How can a Juventus fan become a member of Official Fan Club Westchester?
We try to make it as easy as possible. All someone has to do is reach out via Email at: JOFCWestchester@gmail.com, or send us a message through our Juventus Official Fan Club webpage.
5. What made you start following Juventus?
My grandfather, who I am very close with. We come from a small town in Molise, Italy called, Civitacampomarano and because there aren’t many Serie A clubs around, people tend to pick teams from more up north. In my family's town if your grandfather is a fan of a team it gets passed down from generation to generation.
6. Why did you decide to create a Juventus Official Fan Club?
I noticed there were clubs nearby, however none in Westchester. I reached out to some people and they were instantly in. Once I was certain I could reach the minimum requirements and exceed it, it was a no brainer.
7. What is the atmosphere like at Official Fan Club Westchester?
There are no words for it. Everyone became super close instantly. We welcome newcomers with open arms and I think thats what makes us so attractable.
8. Who are your favourite Juventus players?
Of all time: Del Piero, Buffon and Marchisio. In the current side: Dybala.
9. What is your favourite Juventus goal of all-time?
Again, so many to choose from, however, Dybala’s free-kick goal against Atletico in 2019/2020 was pure class!
10. The best way to watch a Juventus match in your opinion?
With a good espresso and even better Juventus tifosi close by!
