It was Adrien Rabiot that emerged with a smile on his face from his head-to-head with Juventus teammates in the World Cup last 16. France defeated Poland 3-1, a result that brought the end to Wojciech Szczęsny's and Arkadiusz Milik's Qatar 2022 adventure.
The defending champions now face England in the quarter finals on Saturday 10 December.
Szczęsny continued his impressive form during the tournament despite conceding to Olivier Giroud and twice to Kylian Mbappé. The Juve number one produced five saves and was blameless for the goals that knocked out his country.
Milik, on the other hand, came on in the 64th minute, after France had broken the deadlock. Just as Poland were upping the pressure, Mbappé's prowess ended Polish hopes.
Rabiot was on the field for the entire match and once again produced a powerful performance in the French midfield.
