Thirty-six years ago, Gaetano Scirea left us.
Every 3 September since that tragic day in 1989, which took everyone by surprise, has become a painful and indelible moment of remembrance in the hearts of all Juventus fans.
His ability to interpret sport, work, and life made him, throughout his career, a respected figure admired not only by football fans but by many away from the game too. A man so great that he was able to go beyond the narrow boundaries often associated with the role of a player.
A role model, an example, a captain for the entire Juventus family.
A partner on the journey who left us far too soon - Scirea himself was 36 years old at the time of the accident that took away an extraordinary man and one of the most successful players in the history of our club.
