This week, nine Juventus Women players reported for duty at the Federal Technical Center of Coverciano, where they will prepare for an important match against Denmark, and whilst there, a familiar face in Rita Guarino could be found.

The Juventus coach, who is currently attending the UEFA Pro coaching course at the Tuscan-based centre, visited the Museo del Calcio, to which she had donated the jersey she wore on the day of her national team debut. There is a special story behind the number 18 Azzurri jersey… And it centres around Guarino’s debut performance and goal with the Azzurre on the occasion of the first ever Women's World Cup in history, played in China in 1991.

“Looking back at my jersey brings great emotion, because it sets a historical moment between me and women's football, under the common denominator of debuts,” she commented on the occasion upon visiting the Museum. “It was the first ever Women’s World Cup to take place under the aegis of FIFA, it was marked my debut in the Azzurri shirt, my first goal in the national team and, above all, it represents the birth of my passion for this sport.”
