Cecilia Salvai has signed a new contract with Juventus Women to keep her at the club until 2022.
Salvai joined Juventus in the summer of 2017, ahead of the club’s first season. Since then, she has been a huge part of our ambitious project, growing in importance with every passing game.
A reliable player, Salvai has always stepped up for the team during a Juventus career that has so far seen her win three Scudetto titles, one Italian Super Cup and one Coppa Italia. Her first goals for Juventus came in a historic Coppa Italia derby at Vinovo – not bad, from a player whose day job is keeping the ball out down the other end.
There have been plenty of highlights throughout Salvai’s time with the club, but there have been some tougher moments too – such as the injury she sustained when Juventus Women played their first-ever game at Allianz Stadium. That was a heavy blow for Salvai, but – with the support of the whole club – she was able to bounce back, returning stronger than ever and with the same will to win.
Salvai’s new deal means that she and Juventus will be striving for many more targets together over the coming years, starting with the Italian Super Cup final on Sunday 10 January.
