Sarri: "The Derby doesn’t follow trends"

Ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Derby Della Mole meeting against Torino, Mister Sarri addressed invited media at Allianz Stadium, where he previewed the game and provided an update on his team.

TEAM’S CURRENT STATUS

The team are capable of playing good football, whilst there's individuals who can decide a game at any moment and we can rightly rely on those factors. However, the derby is a particular game that doesn't follow trends, they will be very motivated. The fixture list matters little now because every game is tough. After such a long time without playing there is more need to play than rest, at the moment we haven't detected any signs of fatigue within the group."

CLOSED DOORS

Without the fans, home advantage counts for less, especially in difficult moments of the game. However, being able to play in your own stadium counts for something.

THE PLAYERS

Bernardeschi is doing well both physically and mentally. Douglas Costa is someone who deserves to play from the start, and could do so, but right now he is a vital weapon for us for a game in progress. Cristiano & Dybala often try to look for each other, play at speed and go closer together, it is something that they also do in training. Alex Sandro is moving with ease in training, so I hope that he will be back with us soon, it seems like he's recovering from the injury well. Meanwhile, we have to thank both Danilo and Blaise for being available to fill in.

COULD GIGI BREAK THE RECORD?

We'll make a decision on whether or not Gianluigi Buffon plays tomorrow after today's training. He's someone that we always take into consideration, he's an extremely strong goalkeeper, he's vital and even in training does unthinkable things.
