A great night at the Allianz Stadium. A great performance. A great victory. Juventus beat Napoli 3-0 at home, earning three crucial points thanks to goals from David in the first half and Yildiz and Kostic in the second.

MATCH REPORT

The match unfolded on a chilly late January afternoon at the Allianz Stadium. The Bianconeri dominated the game from start to finish, pressing Napoli aggresively all over the pitch. The first chance came just before the quarter-hour mark when Conceicao unleashed a shot across the goal from the right that went just wide. A few minutes later Thuram struck the post with a curling right-footer that beat Meret but hit the woodwork. The pressure mounted and eventually paid off: in the 22nd minute Locatelli played an excellent backheeled chip pass into the penalty area for David, who, with power and precision, slotted home for the Bianconeri. Spalletti's team didn't slow down, in fact three minutes later they came inches away from doubling the lead when Conceicao's powerful left-footed strike was cleared off the goal line by Buongiorno. At the end of the first half, the opposition had more control of possession, but they didn't threaten the Bianconeri, who attempted to inflict further damage on the counterattack, coming close with a long-range shot from Locatelli that was saved by Meret. At halftime, Juve led 1-0.

The first chances of the second half came via David, with a pair of shots early in the half that were blocked. Napoli briefly dominated the match in the middle of the second half, but they were unable to trouble Spalletti's defence, which was well-positioned and extremely focused. Their focus was so high that in the 77th minute they intercepted Napoli's pass via substitute Miretti, who then skillfully played the ball through to Yildiz, who, one-on-one with Meret, made it 2-0 with a delicate finish. Ten minutes later the job was complete: Kostic struck from outside the box with a left-footed shot to make it 3-0, capping off a splendid evening at the Allianz Stadium and putting the exclamation point on a great victory.
