Sofia Cantore’s journey with Juventus continues. Our no.9 has renewed her contract with the club, which will see her remain Bianconera until 2026.

Sofi took her first steps with the club as far back as the summer of 2017, and her ties to Juventus have only strengthened as the years have gone by, all leading to her becoming an important player in Joe Montemurro’s plans. Now, the adventure will continue for years to come and become all the more special.

With Juventus from a young age, off the mark 18

Born in Lecco, Sofia’s first steps in football came with Fiammamonza. Juventus, in our first season in Serie A, took the decision to invest in her and signed her. The signs of her ability were there from the very beginning, and she scored her first goal in a Juventus shirt on March 18, 2018, against AGSM Verona.

She ended her first season at the club by lifting Juventus’ historic first Scudetto, helping the Bianconere along the way with four goals at just 18 years of age.

A development path, and her Juventus comeback

To further her growth and development, Sofi went out on a series of loans. Her first stop was Hellas Verona, before joining Florentia San Gimignano, and then lastly Sassuolo.

These spells away allowed her to find her feet as an important player in Serie A, playing regularly and to learn the ropes as a forward.

The level she reached out on loan led to her Juventus comeback. With Montemurro newly appointed in charge of the Bianconere, Sofi returned and exploded into life back at home. She ended the 2022/23 season with nine goals (seven in Serie A and two in the Champions League), quickly becoming a key cog in the Juventus machine. That campaign ended with success in the Italian Cup.

With time, Sofia has grown increasingly important to Juventus and she started the recent Italian Super Cup win over Roma, putting in an excellent performance. Days later, she grabbed her first league goal of the season in stunning fashion, with her strike proving to be the winner against AC Milan.

Cantore has become a regular part of the Italian national team as well, already accumulating 20 appearances with the Azzurre and scoring her first international goal against England back in February 2023.

Everybody at Juventus is delighted that this journey will continue together, and we wish Sofia the very best of luck in the future.

Congratulations, Sofi!
