Another day, another personal best for Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 made it 19-consecutive seasons with a goal to his name following last night’s Matchday One 3-0 win over Sampdoria, bringing his total tally with La Vecchia Signora to 66 goals. It was the first time in which Ronaldo scored on the opening day for Juve, on his first opening day game at home, following trips to Chievo and Parma over the last two seasons.

Impressively, it was on Ronaldo’s debut for first club, Sporting CP in which CR7 began the extraordinary sequence, netting twice for the Lisbon-based club in a 3-0 win against Moreirense in the 2002/03 season. Moving on to Manchester United and then Real Madrid, before finally signing for the Bianconeri in 2018, Ronaldo’s scoring exploits have shown no sign of slowing down, in fact quite the contrary, as Cristiano has gone on to break goalscoring record after goalscoring record. We look forward to his next one in Black & White!

Other notable records vs. Samp

  • Dejan Kulusevski became the fourth Swedish player in the history of Juventus to score in Serie A, following Kurt Hamrin, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olof Mellberg.
  • Wojciech Szczesny made it 100 appearances in all competitions for Juventus.
  • Leonardo Bonucci is the only defender to have now scored in all eight of the last Serie A campaigns.
