The Juventus Men’s First Team’s attention returns to Serie A this weekend, with Matchday 8 taking the Bianconeri to the capital to face Lazio.

Ahead of the trip to Rome, coach Igor Tudor gave his usual pre-match press conference at the Allianz Stadium.

TOMORROW’S GAME

“The guys are hungry to put in a good performance. We’ve had two sessions to prepare for this game.

“The feelings after Madrid are largely positive. Tomorrow will be a tough game against a good team, and we’ll all need to be on our game. I’m always trying to find the best solutions for the team and my players, and we are all fully focused on Lazio.

“Every coach would like to have defensive solidity, but finding that balance between solidity and being a threat at the other end isn’t easy. When it’s tough to score, sometimes you sacrifice one thing to gain another. Tomorrow we’ll need to have the mentality and desire to not concede, and then to do harm to our opponents at the other end.”

ON THE INDIVIDUALS

“If a player brings quality as well as personality, it’s like striking gold. Having character is so important, and there’s never a session wherein I’m not encouraging each of the guys to take responsibility.

“[Edon] Zhegrova is coming off the back of a year wherein he hasn’t played too much, which is an issue for him. We have to be careful and to manage him properly. He has quality, and he can bring us moments of brilliance during games.

“Do [Lloyd] Kelly and [Pierre] Kalulu always play? Coaches judge performances, and if a player does well, they tend to play a lot.

“Yildiz always plays. His improvement hasn’t made things easy for him, because teams have taken notice of him and pay him more attention. That’s all part of his growth.”
