The Under 20 World Cup continues in Argentina. On Thursday, 31 May 2023, both Italy and Argentina were on the pitch, with two Juventus players involved: Riccardo Turicchia for the Azzurri and Matias Soulé for the Albiceleste.

In the end, there was both elation and devastation for our young Bianconeri, with Italy coming through their Round of 16 test, while hosts Argentina knocked out of the tournament.

ITALY ADVANCE

It was a tough knockout tie for Italy, who however rose to the challenge to defeat England 2-1 thanks to goals from Tommaso Baldanzi and Cesare Casadei, and secure their spot in the quarter-finals. Juve's Riccardo Turicchia lined up from the start and played the full 90 minutes.

The Azzurrini will face Colombia in their Last 8 clash.

ARGENTINA ELIMINATED

The dream of hosts Argentina, who wanted to repeat the success of the senior team in Qatar, came to an abrupt end as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to African opponents Nigeria. Juve's Matias Soulé, who had enjoyed a strong showing in the group stages, did not feature in this match.
