It proved to be a great start to Juventus' 2022/23 season for Dušan Vlahović, with the new Bianconeri number nine netting two goals against Sassuolo in the Bianconeri's start to the Serie A campaign. DV9 scored a penalty towards the end of the first half to double Juventus' lead going into half-time, having won the spot kick himself after being tripped by Sassuolo's Gian Marco Ferrari. Vlahović made the result safe early in the second half when he got on the end of Di Maria's touch to score Juve's third and final goal of the night.
Here's what Dušan had to say to the post-match press:
"I worked all summer, but I'm not 100% yet. I am working to reach my maximum, but I had a problem that wasn't easy to overcome. Playing with Angel Di Maria is an an incredible sensation, a great pleasure. I thank him for the assist and I hope to receive and also give many more, I think that we will work well together, but the important thing is that the team works and wins.
"Angel played an extraordinary game. I also play well with Filip Kostić, I know him, we play together in the national team; but ultimately I feel good playing with everyone, we are a good team and there is a great dressing room. We are only at the beginning, we wanted to start with a victory, now let's go ahead slowly."
