In recent years she has grown and matured, where she has honed her limits and refined her strengths. Now, for Sofia Cantore, it's time to return home. From 1 July, she will again be part of the Juventus Women side after penning in a contract until 2025.
Cantore's return is the culmination of a journey that began in 2019, when she, after two seasons in black and white, packed her bags for a new experience. Her first stop was with Verona, where she collected three goals in 14 appearances in Serie A, before then moving to Florentia, where she scored on nine occasions in 22 appearances. Her final season, which was with Sassuolo, saw her tally in eight strikes in 14 Serie A matches, playing a leading role for the team. An unfortunate right fibula fracture forced her campaign to end early in February, and since then, Sofia has been undergoing her rehabilitation in order to prepare herself for the new season with the Bianconere.
Cantore, who will wear the number nine jersey next season, already has two league titles and a Coppa Italia to her name, while she has featured 25 times and has scored five goals for Juventus. Now it's time to pick up where she left off - with great goals and the desire to experience more unforgettable emotions together.
