The 2026/27 season marks a significant development for the Bianconeri Youth Academy with the launch of the Under-18s team, which further enhances the development pathway for Juventus’ young talents.
The new squad forms part of an increasingly integrated structure, designed to support players in their technical, tactical and personal development, creating an even more effective link between the various categories within the academy: the Under-19s and Next Gen.
These were the words of Claudio Chiellini, following his confirmation as head of Juventus’ youth setup, with particular reference to Next Gen, the Under-19s and, indeed, the Under-18s:
“I am very proud to be extending my association with Juventus, which began in 2014. Over the past twelve years, I have had the opportunity to grow alongside the Club, and my aim in this new role will be to develop a single operational area encompassing the Under-18s, Under-20s, Next Gen and players on loan, creating an increasingly streamlined pathway that supports the development not only of our players, but also of our coaches, staff and management. The launch of the Under-18s also fits into this vision; it is a project we have been considering for some time and represents an important step towards making our young players’ development pathway even more comprehensive, so as to prepare them for the First Team and professional football.”
The introduction of the Under-18s represents a further step in consolidating the project dedicated to the Bianconeri’s young players, with the aim of ensuring continuity in their development and offering them an increasingly competitive environment at a crucial stage in their growth.
