A total of nine Juventus players are set to take to the field this evening as both Italy and Uruguay play their first matches of the Confederations Cup. The Maracanà stadium in Rio de Janeiro will be the venue this afternoon when Italy make their tournament debut against Mexico. Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm (9pm CET) and the Azzurri will look to keep pace and match Group A leaders Brazil blow for blow after they recorded a comfortable 3-0 opening win over Japan. A special evening is in store for at least one of the Bianconeri players on show as Andrea Pirlo will receive his 100th cap for the national side in one of the world's most famous footballing arenas. The other seven Juve members of Cesare Prandelli’s squad who could feature against Mexico are: Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Emanuele Giaccherini, Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco. Martin Caceres’ Uruguay will also make their debut in the competition today at 7pm (midnight CET) when they lock horns with World Champions Spain in the first game of Group B, which is also made up of Nigeria and French Polynesia. Elsewhere, Luca Marrone’s injury is still keeping him sidelined in the Under-21 European championship, where Italy overcame Holland 1-0 in last night’s semi-final clash. Devis Mangia’s team will now contest the final against an in-form Spain at the Teddy stadium in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening.
