Banti to take charge of Fiorentina encounter

Luca Banti has been named referee for Wednesday evening’s Serie A meeting between the Bianconeri and Fiorentina at Juventus Stadium.

The 41-year-old is to take charge of his 22nd encounter involving the Old Lady in all competitions, with the club’s record under his tutelage currently standing at 14 victories, four draws and three defeats.

Banti, who hails from Livorno, last ran the rule over a Juventus fixture earlier this season: January’s 1-1 home stalemate with Derby d’Italia rivals Inter.

He’ll be supported in Turin by assistant referees Alessandro Giallatini and Matteo Passeri, goal-line officials Daniele Orsato and Daniele Doveri and fourth official Afonso Marrazzo.
